I timepiece that deserves a review.
I picked up a County Comm / Maratac branded field watch for every day use and wear. I did not think much of it since it was a Boutique watch that lacked any horological significance other than a trusted Seiko NH35A movement. I can say I was severely incorrect.
This timepiece sports a titanium case and a sapphire crystal on the watch face and case-back. It is extremely lightweight and that brushed look really gives it a sporting appearance. The lug width could be a bit wider, say around 20mm in my opinion, but 18 seems to really fit the bill right now. A screw down crown helps keep things watertight and resistant to those harsh elements.
As of right now, I changed out the band to an International Orange Maratac Zulu 3 loop band. This complements it well. Soon I will have an MI-6 James Bond version between it’s lugs which should really make it pop.
The watch face sports quite a bit of lume and all numbers are very easy to read in darkness or daylight. Minute and Hour markers are a metallic blue color which really gives a nice accent to this watch.
I like simple dials, where its not too busy and complications really sport nothing more than time it self. To me, a day and date function are not really needed. Remembrance of a date can simply be done at the beginning of a day and last for 24 hours.
This watch really does the job of telling time in a simplistic way, offered by a great company that supports various government entities. Hats off to a great watch!
